Worth the trade?

Author – Shoelossfan

It was the start of a new Monday morning for Mathew as he was currently at his school locker grabbing his supplies for his first period math class, he was wearing a brown tee-shirt with some punk bands logo across it, while wearing a pair of gray jeans and on his feet were a pair of white adidas skate sneakers with black laces and logo. Once he grabbed the last of his items he walked towards his classroom like the rest of his classmates, his sneakers slightly slipping off his foot exposing his black sports socks with blue toes and heels with each step.

Soon after he entered the classroom and took his seat near the back row, though he like most of his classmates noticed that their teacher wasn’t there yet, which was odd since most mornings he was in the classroom before them, but it was still a minute or two before class started and Mathew figured he was just running a little late. as he laid back in his chair and waited hear head his friend Millie from the seat next to his ask. “So you have a good weekend Mattie?”

“Hm yeah for the most part, what about you?” Mathew asked looking over at his friend for a second to notice she was wearing a light blue jacket over a black tee-shirt with an apple logo on it, a pair blue jeans on her here feet were a pair of new looking yellow Nike sneakers with a blue logo, outlines and laces and a pair of somewhat dirty looking pink socks since she was already shoe playing with her loose sneaks. Though after a quick look at his friends’ outfit for the day Mathew started to set up his stuff when Millie replied. “Oh pretty good, got to get some new sneakers on Saturday.”

“ah that’s good seeing how you seem to have a problem keeping them on.” Mathew teased since he knew all about his friends clumsy nature, as Millie pouted when she heard that and remarked. “oh come on you like it when I play with them, and you know it. Also mind if I borrow your pencil? I forgot my case at home”

“Yeah….sure besides I can just borrow one from the teacher once he shows up.” Mathew sighed as he handed over his only pencil for the period over to his friend as their teacher entered the classroom just as the bell rang to signal the start of the period, commenting as he entered with what appeared to be something rolled up under his arm. “Sorry about being late class but I had stop by home depot on the way here.”

Mathew just rolled his eyes at the comment as some of his classmates started to wonder about the roll under his arm as Millie raised her hand and asked straight out. “Mister Montgomery what’s that under your arm?”

“Well as you kids Know their seems to be a lot of you that keep stealing pencils from my classroom when you borrow them so.” Their teacher soon spoke up as he walked over to a blank part of the wall behind his desk and started to hang up the poster with some tape, unrolling it to reveal the following words that made Mathew worry. “If you want to borrow a pencil then leave one of your shoes”

Under the text there was some images showing a generic shoe and some pencil images, some of the students were shocked as one nerdy looking girl near the front of the room asked. “Sir is it even legal for you to do this? I mean these shoes belong to us.”

“in fact it is since it’s something of an even trade, besides maybe it will teach more of you to be ready for class before it starts.” Mister Montgomery stated with a bit of a cross tone as one of the jocks of the classroom, Evan sanders asked in a snobbish tone. “Oh yeah and what if we don’t want to trade one of our shoes for your stupid pencils?”

“then you will just have to trade with someone else, and I will be making sure everyone has a pencil before we start each lesson to make sure none of you are missing your supplies.” Mister Montgomery stated clear as day with Mathew gulping a bit since he loaned his pencil to Millie as he quickly leaned over and whispered. “Say can you give me my pencil back please?”

“no way since I don’t want to lose one of my new sneakers already.” Millie replied back with a whisper while another boy asked a in a concerned tone. “Is there some way for use to get our shoe back?”

“Yes these is, just return my pencil and you get the shoe back. Easy as that!” Mister Montgomery remarked before he looked over his class and asked as he took out his class roster from the desk. “Alright then when I call out your name let me know if you have your supplies and if you need to borrow any.”

With that the teacher started to call out each of his student’s names from A-Z, though when he reached Evan it turned out he didn’t bring his pencil and so had to give up one of his red and white Nikes to borrow one. After a few more names and a few more shoes on the teachers desk he finally hit Mathew who sadly walked up to the teacher’s desk, who soon slipped off one of his skate shoes before his Montgomery said simply. “alright you can borrow a pencil though remember to bring it back at the end of class and be more prepared next time.”

“Yeah I know…” Mathew sighed as his black and blue right socked foot felt cold on the classrooms tile floor as he took a pencil from the mug on the desk before heading back to his desk. As the teacher called out the remaining names and got about three other students handing in a shoe for a pencil, leaving mister Montgomery with a dozen single shoes at the start of the period.

———

Midway through the lesson Mathew was doing his best to focus on what the teacher was saying when he heard the familiar sound of a pencil hitting the ground from the desk next to his, glancing over he noticed that Millie had somehow lost the pencil he loaned her, and by the look of things it seamed to roll back behind the back row of the classroom, hearing his friend say in a quiet manner since mister Montgomery was strict about no talking in class. “ohh…not good. Where did it go?”

(“heh same old Millie.”) Mathew thought to himself as he glanced over to see that her left sneaker was completely off her pink socked foot while her right sneaker was on only by her toes. Though he soon set his pencil down in the little engraved slot on the desk to try and follow what his teacher was writing on the board, however the engraving happened to be on the side of the desk that faced Millie’s. smirking a bit she quickly snatched up the pencil from her friends desk while he was distracted.

With Mathew only noticing when he needed to take some notes again and notice the pencil was gone, though he first looked around under his desk in case he might of accidently knocked it down only to notice it gone completely while Millie kept it hidden from Mathew thinking to herself. (“I’ll be sure to return it before class ends”)

———

Later as the period ended Millie had somehow forgotten that the pencil in her hand was the one Mathew borrowed from mister Montgomery as she set it into her math book as a sort of bookmark while clearing off her desk and slipping her sneakers back on before starting towards the classroom door. While Mathew looked all around his desk franticly for the pencil he borrowed to no Advil while the other students who borrowed a pencil returned them to the teacher. So, sighing in defeat Mathew gathered up the rest of his school supplies and walked up to the teacher’s desk as mister Montgomery asked. “So, Mathew will you remember to have your pencil next time?”

“Um yeah….i’m not sure how but…I kind of misplaced the pencil I borrowed..” Mathew sheepishly said rubbing his slightly dusty and dirt black socked right foot with blue toes and heels against his still shoe foot as Mister Montgomery replied picking up Mathew’s skate shoe before he said. “well in that case your not going to get your shoe back since you can’t return the pencil”

“L…look I’ll give you another pencil tomorrow so please give me back my shoe please, this is my only pair.” Mathew begged in a desperate tone before mister Montgomery remarked in a very stern manner. “Sorry kid but you need to learn to also take better care of things people loan out to you, so your not getting your shoe back.”

“You have to be kidding me! You can’t just keep my shoe from me!” Mathew exclaimed looking a bit angry as mister Montgomery calmly stated. “it’s not your shoe anymore Mathew, you traded it to me for a pencil which you lost.”

With that and no other argument to give Mathew just groaned as he stormed out of the classroom, stuck with his right sock exposed and only wearing a left skate shoe as he wondered how he was going to get his shoe back after this, though when Millie saw this she giggled and blushed at the cute sight of her friend walking off like that.

I love going to Walmart’s and leaving my shoes around places to see if anyone takes notice and picks them up but on this day I was feeling a bit more adventurous and wanted to pretend like I was rushing through the store and passing people and as I would I would lose one of my shoes and keep on going! Lol the only women I did it to, I was running through an aisle and my shoe came off right as I passed her and she quickly looked up and saw that I had I abandoned my shoe as I kept on walking. I kept rushing in one shoe and didn’t look back. I hid out close by in another aisle and waited to see if she would pick my shoe up or try and find me. I ended up going back to the aisle and the women who had saw me was still in it and noticed I had only one shoe on. She asked me what had happened and didn’t wanna leave the aisle until I came back for my shoe. I told her I had been rushing and didn’t noticed my shoe loss lol. She giggled as I was slipping my stocking foot back into my shoe and she ended up walking away. Sadly she didn’t take my shoe but I thought it was nice of her to baby sit my shoe for me until I came back hehe. That same day I decided to go to the shoe aisle and try that same trick on another women with a cart. As we passed each other in the aisle, I acted as if I had lost my shoe and it caught under her cart lol. She couldn’t stop laughing and said she needed a good laugh. She also told me I was blushing as she stared at my exposed sock. I quickly slid my foot into my shoe and left Walmart. It was a bit embarrassing.

The elevator

Author – Alexander

Today I was visiting a friend. He lives in a big apartment building on the 5th floor with his parents. When I came there I walked the stairs up to his floor. He was already waiting for me at the door. I went into the apartment and sat down on the couch. He offered me a drink and we talked a little and watched t.v. At some point he said let’s do something outside and I said okay. We went outside to the staircase and he pushed the button for the elevator. When we stepped in he pushed the button for the top floor, there are 10. On top we stepped out and looked around, there was a little ball in the corner and he started kicking it towards me and I kicked it back. The doors of the elevator were still open and when he kicked the ball again it bounced against the wall into the elevator and at the same time the elevator was called down and the doors closed with the ball inside. I pushed the button to call it back and a few minutes later it opened the doors and the ball was still inside. Then my friend said I dare you… I was like; huh? He laughed a little and said since you don’t live here I dare you to kick your shoes into the elevator, wait till it goes down, call it back and see if they are still there if it comes back up. I was reluctant about this but he said come on they are not some expensive sneakers. He was right about that and in a funny way I got a little thrill about the dare. The shoes I was wearing were already a little trashed and I thought; what could happen. My friend then said; well? Do you take the dare? I said, okay. So I kicked my shoes into the elevator and we waited for it to go down. Then the doors closed and I got the shivers because I hadn’t thought about it till then that when somebody took them I had to go home in socks. We could see it stopped on the 6th floor and then it went further down to the ground floor. I looked down to see who was leaving the building and if that person carried my shoes but I only saw a woman going out carrying some plastic bag. I went back to the elevator and pushed the button to call it back up. My friend was only laughing at me and said I did this once and my shoes were still there. Then the doors opened and I froze for a second because the elevator was empty. I looked around the corners but there were no shoes to be found. My friend stopped laughing and said we have to go down and see if they are maybe in the main hall. So we went down, me in my light grey wool socks. On the ground floor we got out and looked around again but there was no shoes. I said, what now? I can’t go home like this, everybody will watch me and make fun of me. My friend said, I don’t know, I didn’t expect this to happen. I took a deep sigh and said let’s go back up. We walked towards the elevator and the doors closed right before our faces. I looked at my friend and said let’s take the stairs. I had something to drink at his place and went home. I had a 20 minute bike ride to go. At first I felt embarrassed but after some distance I didn’t pay too much attention. I was lucky it was nice weather…

Unlucky woman in Starbucks

Author – Jay

I was at a Starbucks getting my coffee yesterday morning and I decided to take a seat while I waited. I noticed a younger women in her mid to late 20s on her phone seated not to far away. I took notice of her exposed stocking foot hanging off the tall chair she was sitting in. Cute reinforced toes on her stockings and she was wearing jeans and very comfy attire which I found even more cute considering she was wearing stockings and clogs 🙂 anyways I noticed that she had only slipped out of one of her clogs and she still had the other on. I guess maybe her foot was hurting or she was letting her sweaty foot air out for everyone to see. Her other shoe was on the floor under the table a bit out of her sight and reach. I’m guessing someone else was watching her show as well because a man in a leather black jacket literally walked by, crouched down very discreetly, reached under her chair and slid her errant shoe right out from under her with out her even noticing. The man picked it up and walked out the store just like that. She had NO CLUE her clog just got nicked. Other people around had kind of saw what had happened but wasn’t sure what to make of it. People thought it was a prank or something because there was giggling from people and more people took notice of her shoeless state lol. I was getting super excited waiting for her to notice. Finally a few minutes went by and she went to slide her precious stocking foot back in to her clog when she realized it was GONE! lol. The look of panic set in so hard on her face. She scanned the floor thinking it got kicked around. She looked around EVERYWHERE and people were just staring at her patting around the Starbucks in one shoe lol. It was the greatest moment I had ever seen. Someone finally stopped her and asked if she was ok when she said she was missing her shoe. Someone told her they saw a man reach under her table and take it and thought it was supposed to be joke. She lost it and basically couldn’t do anything about the situation. Standing there awkwardly all dressed up but missing one of her precious clogs 🙂 it was the cutest sight. She ended up leaving the Starbucks one shod.

Shop lifters shoes – Daddy’s little girls (short story)

Author – unlucky lad

A man in his thirties enters the shop with his two young daughters, he goes to the counter to buy cigarettes as his little girls go to the confectionary aisle and put sweets in their pockets. As the man pays for his cigarettes Dillon discreetly tells him his girls have put sweets in their pockets. “They’re young and don’t understand” he says apologetically, telling the girls to put the sweets back. The girls looked disappointed so Dillon suggests daddy could just pay for the sweets. The guy says he has no more money.
“But daddy you said if we hide the sweets we could keep them” said the young girl. Her sister said “You did say we could after you finished your games next door”. Dillon was annoyed at the man and discreetly pointed at the sign attached to the shelf displaying other shoplifters shoes. ‘Steal from us and we’ll take your shoes’.
Dillon leaned over the counter and said to the girls. “Daddy is going to play a game with you, he is going to give you his shoes and you must go and hide them in the shop. If daddy finds his shoes, you lose but if daddy cannot find them, you win and you get your sweets”.
“Yay” shouts the girls “Hurry up daddy give us your shoes”
The man goes red faced as he has no choice but to go along with the charade and reluctantly takes off his Adidas Samba trainers and gives them to his daughters. They leaving him standing at the till in his black socks as they run off with a shoe each. “Hide them well if you want to win your sweets” shouts Dillon. As the girls disappear the man gets a telling off by Dillon. “You take your daughters next door into a betting shop, gamble away all your money except enough for cigarettes then tell your girls to steal sweets. Pretty selfish and despicable”. The man looks down at his shoeless feet feeling ashamed.
“You’re going to pretend you can’t find your shoes and let the girls think they’ve won. You can pay for the sweets and collect your trainers tomorrow provided we can find them.

The dream

Author – Emil

Last night I had a very realistic dream. I dreamed that together with my friend Michal, going to school, we left a little earlier to go round the road and go to the river. (sometimes we do it in reality). We walked slowly, occasionally kicking small pebbles, talking and watching the wild ducks, when I suddenly looked at my watch and shouted, “We have only ten minutes to start the first lesson!” We started to run, as fast as we could, but we were so far away from school that it was obvious that we would not make it on time. So we started shortcuts. But there are allotments on the river, so we had to cross the fence, hoping that we would not come across one of the owners. Unfortunately, it happened. We were already near the edge of the gardens when we heard someone shouting angrily, asking what we were doing here. I looked back and saw a man running towards us. We could only do one thing – run even faster than before, that he would not catch us. We got the fences, almost two meters high, and quickly climbed over – and we breathed a sigh of relief. And then I noticed that during my escape I lost one shoe. I looked back and saw that it was right under the fence, unfortunately, on the other side. Normally I would go back to get my shoe back, but that man was already very close and would catch me … and the lessons would only start in five minutes. So I just ran after Michał to school, leaving my lost shoe in that garden plot. And although we were in a hurry, we were a little late and we entered the class after the bell. Of course, someone immediately pointed at my feet – on the right one I only had a blue sock – and shouted “Look, Emil becomes Cinderella” and everyone started laughing. I blushed, I sat in my seat.
Then I woke up.

Shoes of the shoplifters’

Author – unluckylad

The twins had only recently bought the shop, they had no idea just how bad the shoplifting is but they where going to stop it. Bart was thinking on his feet when he took away the boy’s shoes yesterday, but it had some impact, the boy was ashamed and remorseful. Hopefully doing the same to others might deter them from stealing. Bart had cleared a shelf behind the till to display shoplifters’ shoes and a sign ‘Steal from us and we’ll take your shoes’. He had already put the shoes of the school boy and those of the teacher with his photo on the shelf.
That morning Dillon overheard some boys in the next aisle discussing stealing comics. He intercepted them at the door and said “Hiding something?” The boys looked at each other with blushing faces. He marched them to the till and ordered them to open their coats. Tucked inside each coat was a comic. Dillon took them “Because you stole them the price has doubled to £6 each” he said. One of them, Ethan, managed to pay for his comic with coins, his mate Dean paid with a £10 note and given change but the tall blond boy, Brad, had only £2. “Sorry I haven’t enough” he said and became upset after reading the sign about shoplifters’ shoes. “Please Dean, lend me that £4, I don’t want to lose my shoes”. Dean replied “No, you can walk to school in your socks” he and Ethan laughed as Dillon ordered Brad to take off his shoes “Pay tomorrow and you can get your comic and shoes”. His mates stopped laughing when Dillon refused to give them their comics. “We’ve paid for them” said Dean. “Yes but only after you stole them, you’ve obviously not understood the sign ‘Steal from us and we’ll take your shoes’, I want your shoes too”. They became upset having to remove their shoes in front of the other school kids. After taking photos of the boys holding their shoes, Dillon escorted the grey socked shoeless trio out of the shop. The school kids watched as Bart placed the boys’ shoes on the shelf and told them all “Let that be a warning to anyone attempting to steal from us”.
Later that morning a man appeared at the counter demanding his colleague’s shoes. He was wearing a rugby top, black sports shorts, white football socks and cheap black trainers; his name was Ricky, a P.E. instructor. He was of athletic build, slightly taller than Dillon and came across very bullish.
“You have embarrassed my colleague by taking his shoes” he said.
“He shouldn’t steal from us; he also owes us £40”
“He owes you nothing, are you going to give them to me or am I going to have to take them” demanded the P.E. Instructor as if he was intimidating one of his pupils.
“I’m not giving you anything” said Dillon
“Then I shall just have to take them”.
“Do you know why we took your colleagues shoes?”
“I’m not interested” replied the instructor rather arrogantly as he stepped behind the counter and removed the pair of brown leather brogues from the shelf.
“That will be £40 please” said Dillon
“I told my colleague I will not leave without his shoes”
“Then pay. If you don’t pay then no shoes, if you take without paying then you too will have no shoes” warned Dillon.
The instructor wasn’t backing down. Bart had overheard everything from the stockroom and intercepted the P.E. Instructor as he left the store carrying his colleague’s shoes.
Bart told the P.E. Instructor to return inside the shop.
“Have you paid for those shoes?” said Bart.
“Err… No” replied the instructor “Are all school teachers arrogant and stupid” said Bart “You’ve demanded something that’s not yours and believe you can just take it and done exactly what your friend did yesterday and stole them” The instructor was told he had to wait for the police.
“Please don’t call the police; teachers cannot have a criminal record, take my shoes but please let me take my friends shoes, he desperately needs them”
Bart put the brown leather shoes back on the shelf then looked up and down at the instructor, “More shoes for the shelf, take them off” said Bart.
The instructor kicked off his trainers then bent down and picked them up. Bart attempted to take a photo but the instructor deliberately hid his face.
Dillon took the trainers from him and said “They aren’t worth £80, have you got money”
“No, search me, you’ve took my shoes now let me go, but please let me take my friends shoes”
Dillon thought something was not quite adding up, the Instructor repeated exactly what his friend did yesterday, quite relaxed about handing over his cheap trainers. What P.E. Instructor would wear cheap trainers! He made him stand next to the till so customers could see him in his white socked feet, more noticeable when wearing shorts. Dillon left the shop and walked around the block and then he saw the reason for the instructor’s actions.
Stood nearby was the teacher from yesterday holding a pair of black Reebok trainers. Dillon approached him; “Those trainers look too big for you” said Dillon explaining his mate was waiting for him at the shop.
“I told him to meet me here”
“Probably didn’t want to get his white socks dirty” joked Dillon. They both walked back to the shop. Once inside the teacher gave the P.E. Instructor his Reebok trainers, he quickly slipped them on his cold feet. Bart said to the teacher, “You must be here to pay us as your pal here insisted that you needed your shoes”
The teacher said “I do desperately need them for school”.
“It’s still £40 to get them back, perhaps you could loan your friend £80 or we’ll have to call the police on him” said Dillon
“I don’t have £120” he said nervously looking at his instructor colleague.
“I believe you and your colleague tried to set us up getting us to swap your leather shoes for a pair of cheap nasty trainers” said Bart. “Your both as bad as each other, not good examples to set as teachers, we should really just call the police”
Bart gives the instructor his cheap black trainers to hold again and tells him “Now you are going to allow me to take your photograph”. The P.E. Instructor let him. Dillon takes the black trainers and puts them back on the shelf. “As you both where in on today’s deceit you are both responsible for today’s shoe theft” and points at the sign ‘Steal from us and we’ll take your shoes’. It was now lunchtime and school kids where beginning to enter the shop.
Bart looks over the counter and notices the teacher wearing black New Balance trainers and his Instructor mate now wearing black Classic Reebok trainers.
“Take off your shoes or we’ll call the police” both teachers had no choice and took off their trainers. Bart took a photo of each of them holding their sports shoes, then took the trainers and placed them on the shelf. With both teachers stood in their socks and school kids sniggering behind them, Bart advised them that to get their shoes back tomorrow will cost them £120.
“You’ve accused me of stealing shoes that belong to none of us; you’ve then taken my shoes, then accused me of stealing my own shoes and taken more shoes from me. Then you want me to pay £120 to get my own shoes back, my brown leather shoes cost no where near that when bought brand new” said the teacher.
“Dillon said “But you’ll be getting four pairs, that’s £30 a pair. So your original pair brown leather shoes will only cost you £30, that’s £10 cheaper than this morning” he laughed as he escorted the shoeless teachers out of his shop.
Ricky the Instructor argued with his colleague as they walked in socked feet back to the school. “Why did I let you talk me into losing my own trainers”.

Shoes of the shop lifters

Author – unluckylad

The convenience store was owned by Dillon and his twin brother Bart, aged 38 and former marines, at 6ft tall they certainly knew how to look after themselves. Sales where good especially being close to the local school. Always busy before and after school with the school kids. One major issue was theft, the school didn’t take their concerns seriously so each time the police where called the kids where just cautioned and any adults arrested where released within a few hours and back stealing again. There was no punishment to deter the thieves, if caught they just handed the stolen items back and would try again later.
One morning during the school rush they caught a 15 year old boy stealing a bottle of cola. Dillon stopped him leaving the shop and marched him to the till. Bart was determined to make him pay but the boy had no money, so demanded something of value as deposit until he could pay. “I have nothing of value” said the boy. Dillon looked the boy up and down and noticed the new school shoes on his feet. “Shoes” said Dillon. The boy looked horrified at the prospect of losing his shoes.
“I need them for school” he said
“I need people to pay for stuff” said Bart. “Now take them off”
“You can have them back when you pay for your drink, which will be double the original price. So give me your shoes or I’ll call the police and then you’ll also be late for school”. The boy took off his shoes and gave them to Dillon, he gave the boy his bottle of cola and told him he could have shoes back when he pays for his drink. The boy left the shop with all the other kids laughing at his socked feet. Bart said to his brother “I think it’s the first time anyone caught stealing has been remorseful, I do believe we might of found a deterrent to stealing”.
Half an hour later a teacher entered the shop, “We’ve had a complaint from a pupil that you’ve taken his shoes”. Bart retrieved the boys shoes and placed them on the counter and said “You mean these!” . The teacher picked up the shoes and told them you cannot steal shoes off my pupils feet. “Then your pupil should not steal from us, besides the shoes ain’t stolen, they are our property until he pays for his drink. The teacher, full of his own self importance, walked to the exit carrying the shoes and said “I’ll be giving him his shoes back”. Dillon, enraged by the teachers arrogance followed him outside, stopped him and ordered him back inside the shop. The teacher, 30, smaller than Dillon had no choice but to obey the shopkeeper and return to the shop. He was told that until the boy paid for his drink, his shoes where their property to which he’d just attempted to steal, accusing the teacher of theft. The teacher offered to pay for the stolen drink. “Too late” said Dillon, “You didn’t steal the drink but the shoes, we have to call the police, our policy”. The teacher told them there really wasn’t any need for the police and could they resolve the issue amicably. Like the boy earlier the teacher was told to pay for the stolen goods, Bart said the stolen shoes where quite new and worth about £30, “I’m not paying £30” said the teacher. Dillon replied “You’re right you’re not, you’ll be paying £60, we charge double the price for stolen goods. The teacher was outraged, “I don’t have £60”. “We’ll give you the same option as the boy earlier, give us something of value as a deposit. When you pay us you’ll get back your deposit” said Bart. The teacher had £20 in his wallet “I’ve nothing else”. Dillon told the teacher to take off his shoes. “No way!” He said. “Shoes or the police” said Bart. The teacher reluctantly took off his shoes and handed them over. Dillon could smell the leather of the warm brown brogues. “Not worth £60, give me the £20 aswell. Return with another £40 and you’ll get your shoes back. He handed over the money and asked for the boys shoes telling them he’s paid for them with his own shoes. It will cost £4 to get them as that is how much the boy owes for his drink. “But I’ve just given you all my money” said the teacher. “When the boy pays £4 and you pay us £40 you both can have your shoes back” said Dillon. Bart got out his mobile and told the teacher to hold his shoes to his chest and he took a photo explaining anyone could come in and claim the shoes and this way without doubt we’d know they’re yours. The teacher stormed out of the shop in his red socks which added more attention and embarrassment to his shoeless state.
“Why the photo?” asked Dillon to his brother. “We know they’re his shoes”. Bart explained it will be an extra deterrent to anyone else who may think about stealing from us. “From now on all stolen goods must be paid for with the price doubled, we will also take their shoes everytime. Hopefully the embarrassment of leaving in socked feet might shame them, they can collect them next day with full payment of their stolen goods. It’s a win win, double profit on stolen goods and today we got £60 for nothing from the teacher just for him to get back his own shoes”.
“That’s if he collects his shoes!” said Dillon.
“Don’t worry he’ll definitely return and pay to get them back” said Bart with a big smile.
“Perhaps we should refuse to give them back unless they return in their socked feet” joked Dillon.

Careful what you wish for

Author – Shoelossfan

It was the first Monday of February 2019 and it had been raining for the last two days here with no real sign of the rain appearing to let up. I was currently making myself some lunch in the pizza oven and figured it would take care of some of the pets around the house, since that’s my job for just about every morning. (woke up late) anyway I went to take care of my sister’s pet bunny since I promised I would while she was away in England, however I notice the bunny was out of hay. So sighing a bit I slipped on a coat and my new black sneakers with red laces and head out to the barn to get some hay.

Now if you guys remember my last story the barn is barely a building, it’s more a suspended roof over some pens. And when I gout around front of it I saw that between me and the hay was just completely swamped, though the area by the back steps looked shallower. So making by wat around the hillside the barn was built into I headed down the steps, it was indeed shallower and with some careful walking I was about to get across, but noticed the ground was soft as I walked over it. Once on the small island of loose hay in the center of the barn I sighed and figured I would continue on my mission. So I go to the pallet and take out a sleeve of hay before I start to make my way back.

Though when I reached the water between myself and the stairs I noticed that the path I took wasn’t there , most likely sunk under by me stepping on it. Though I did my best to follow the path I took and as I stepped up onto the step with my left sneaker clad foot I noticed that my right foot was stuck and partly underwater, so I tugged slightly and thanks to the sneakers looseness I stepped right out of my right sneaker exposing my black sock with red toes and heel to the elements. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this since I wrote about a month ago as a joke about losing my shoe in a situation like this and now it happens.

Sighing a bit as I saw that my shoe was going to be a hassle, and I had a sleeve of hay that I didn’t want to drop in the water along with there not really being anywhere dry to set it down thanks to the downpour, I just made my way back to the house quickly. with one black sneaker on my left foot and my black and red sock on my right. I don’t think anyone went back for it before nightfall and sine it’s a pair I got from Walmart that was already falling apart I doubt it will last the next few days of rain ahead. So looks like I’m stuck with two left shoes and nothing but socks to wear on my right foot.

Convention centre mishap

Author – Lucylex

This past weekend I was working at a convention center for a dance competition and there were a few other girls beside my self working. It was a 3 day job and it called for us to be on our feet for most of the day and considering everyone was wearing dress shoes you can imagine how bad everyone’s feet were hurting. This story takes place backstage and this is where all the dancers lined up before going out to the main stage. There was two was one entrance and then a separate exit. I was working the entrance and my co worker was working the exit and kind of directing traffic. I could tell her shoes were very uncomfortable and she eventually slipped out of them and into her sheer black socks. You could see her toenails peeking through her socks and she kept kinda reserved by the exit. Her shoes were off to the side and there was a lot of traffic coming and going. She even left her post in her socks and walked elsewhere to run an errand all the while leaving her precious shoes behind. I made it a point to get over to where she was and see if I could snag her shoes while she was away. Finally during some busy traffic of people coming and going I managed to kick them out the exit and pick them up and hide them near by. It took her a very long time to realize her shoes were gone but it wasn’t until she had to go out on to the dance floor to make an announcement that she looked for them. I saw her panicking looking under the table and around the exit. Patting around in her thin socks lol. She never found them and looked shocked she now had to go out infront a crowd of hundreds of People being the only one missing her shoes and showing off those cute little sheer black socks. She ended up going out there and doing her announcement. I could tell people were a little surprised to see her in her stocking feet as she was trying to look professional. It was the cutest thing. She finally came backstage and told me someone had snagged her shoes. I just stared at her stocking feet:) she never got her shoes back and I picked them up on my way out when I left the job. They are still in my car! Again, don’t leave your shoes unnatended in public unless you like going home in your socks 🙂
