Risking our shoes

Author – Alan

We were – to be fair – bored and being brothers were allowed to hang out together in these crazy new times as we lived in the same house. I was 15 and Stuart 17, we were hanging round in a park a couple of miles from home and there were not many people about. Stu said we should spice the day up a bit and add a bit of risk to it and suggested a dare we should both do together. I agreed without hesitation. Stu said we should find a place in the park – leave our shoes there and spend the rest of the day just hanging out in our socks going back for our shoes at 6pm no earlier and no excuses, anyone chickening out forfeits his socks jeans and shirt going home in just his boxer shorts, no way I would chicken out so I was good with the challenge. We shook on it and looked for a cool place to leave our shoes. In the park we knew of a bandstand, hardly used now and a bit run down so it was ideal, we went there both carrying our shoes, me my size 9 uk Vans and Stu his size 10 Air Max, we were both wearing white sports socks both clean on that morning, thinking nothing of it we put our shoes under the steps of the bandstand and ran off in our socked feet to just mess about for the few hours till 6 pm. No one was chickening out that was for sure. About  4 o clock it started raining but not hard just a shower we stayed under some trees to stay dry, the shower became pretty sold rain and eventually a thunderstorm, we were going to get soaked going back for our shoes at 6. At half past 5 we decided to head back for our shoes, by the time we got there we were both pretty well soaked through and our once clean socks were pretty muddy. The bandstand was in sight now so we would soon know if we had risked anything, our shoes were there, well sort of, our right shoes were there both our left shoes had gone. We searched all around in case someone was just playing a joke on us, without success we were both stranded without our left shoes. We put our right shoes on and set off for the long walk home both in one shoe and a, by now, rather dirty white sock. Hopefully there would not be many people about. The earlier storm had ensured it would be a soggy walk and a rather lop sided one .Stu took off his remaining Air Max and threw it saying as he would never get his missing shoe back there was little point to keeping it, not liking the lop sided look either my shoe came off too and we both carried on home in our ruined white socks. We got home about 7 and as we arrived home, on the doorsteps were two odd shoes both left and both ours, we both fell about laughing.

Lock down shoe loss

Author – Unlucky lad

After four weeks of lockdown I decided to buy some new trainers to encourage myself to go out and exercise rather than staying inside on my computer constantly. A few days later my new Nikes arrived, it was a warm spring day so I wore shorts and a new pair of white Nike crew socks with my new black VaporMax trainers, they felt and looked good on my feet. Leaving the house I observed the rules and kept a 2m distance from everyone.
After jogging the mile to the park I had plenty of time to exercise and return home within the allowed time outdoors. I stopped for a breather and noticed some of my college mates kicking a football on the grass. It was good to see them. “Nice trainers” said Mark. “Thanks” I said as Jamie asked if I wanted to play football but I did not want to spoil my new Nikes. I reminded them of no social gatherings during the lockdown, Chris laughed and said they where ordered to go home earlier but returned once the police had gone. We talked as they passed the ball to each other. Ten minutes later several policemen appeared “You where warned earlier to not play football and go home” said a copper. Jamie replied sarcastically “What you gonna do take away our ball”. The policeman was not amused especially when my mates laughed. The copper replied “no but we’ll be taking your shoes”. The laughing stopped. Billy looked down at his Reebok classics and said “No way are you taking my trainers”. The copper replied “We have whatever power it takes to clear the streets, even if that means taking your shoes to make you go home”. Billy said he would go straight home now but not doing so earlier meant he couldn’t be trusted, failing to surrender his shoes would mean he would be arrested. I said I had just arrived but the copper disbelieved me and demanded my trainers too.
Jamie and Mark kicked off their trainers leaving them standing in black football socks, Billy and Chris refused but the threat of handcuffs soon had them standing in their socked feet too. The copper who had just taken my details said “Take your shoes off son”. I looked at my new Nikes, I sighed in disbelief but with the fear of getting arrested I carefully took them off, as you do with new shoes. We where ordered to step away from our trainers by 2 metres to allow them to be taken by the police. As we stood in the middle of the park in our socked feet we where lectured on the lockdown rules and seriousness of the virus. To our embarrassment the police presence had brought onlookers to stare at us standing in our socks but they quickly departed with the threat of losing their own shoes. “You can collect your trainers from the police station once the lockdown ends” said another copper. “That could be months without our shoes” said Chris. We where told the longer we stay at home the sooner it would be over. We where ordered to go home leaving our shoes where we left them on the grass. Not only had I lost my brand new trainers which I had worn for less than one hour but my brand new white crew socks where covered in grass stains. It was going to be an embarrassingly uncomfortable walk home shoeless.

Swapping trainers while walking

Author – NickNike

It was a hot summer day and had been out walking with my mate all day. We were 3 hours from the end of our walk and stopped for a drink. My mate was complaining that his feet hurt and that his trainers were rubbing his feet. After a bit of discussion, I offered if he wanted to try mine on and see if they were more comfortable. Very quick he agreed and immediately took his white reebok exofit hitops off and put them on the picnic bench in front of me!. I could smell the sweet damp smell already coming off them!.

I took off my airmax90 and handed them to him, he was also wearing trainer socks so he took them off and handed too me, clearly hinting that we were swaping socks too… off came my black crew socks and I gave them to him. We quickly put on each others socks and trainers and then started back our walk home.

Eventually we arrived back at the car, got in and started driving home. I pulled up outside his house and after saying goodbye he got out and went in. He had clearly forgotten to swap trainers and socks back, I wasn’t going to remind him so drove off still wearing his reebok.

When I got home took them off and had to have a nice smell of the damp socks and hitops. I kept wearing them during the week. He teat me midweek and thanked me for letting me wear my airmax and said we should swap back next time we met which was going to be the following weekend. I was very happy to keep his until then!

You don’t gain by lying

Author – the real loser

I’m in a British Grammar school with proper uniform, including a black blazer with the school crest of the pocket, black trousers, and grey shirt, tie and socks.
One day, as I was about to leave the a classroom, I started having difficulty opening the door. After banging around for a few minutes, I realised that there were boys on the other side, and one of them told a kid called Neville to call Mrs. Warren – the deputy headmistress. After a minute the door gave way and there were a bunch of fifth formers there, and they led round a corner in the corridor. Within a second they had wrestled me onto the floor and pulled off my shoes. They told me that when Mrs. Warren comes I should deny that I was ever locked in the room, and say I knew nothing about it. I realised that they had set the whole thing up to get little Neville in trouble. Not being interested in losing my shoes, I agreed to their plan, although I felt a bit guilty. They gave me my shoes back, and ran to my next lesson.

A short while later I was called out of the next class to Mrs. Warren. I denied the whole story, saying that I had no problem opening the door, when she turned on the video, and showed me myself in the classroom, and then outside with the bullies. She then told me to give her my shoes. Shoe confiscation is not usually used a punishment in school, but she said that she wanted to teach me that you don’t gain by lying. She told me also to bring my sports kit and took my sneakers. I went back to lesson feeling very incongruous with my black suit and solid grey socks. It didn’t help me much, but I found out that the bullies were suspeneded withput their shoes too.

I went home in socks, feeling very conspicuous, and to my horror, my parents, sticklers for rules wouldn’t let me wear any toher shoes either..

The next day we were called into assembly, and told that school has ended indefinitely, and we should take our sports kits and books … so here I am stuck indefinitely without shoes. I tried calling the school office a couple of itmes when my mother wasn’t around but I have n’t been able to get through….

It’s turned in a really uncomfortable and humiliating experience.

Accedently stole a shoe

Author – Cam

Before the quarantine I went to party with some people, and my friend got drunk and twisted his ankle. He took his shoe off to ice it, and it was okay. Eventually I took him home and helped him walk into his house, but I forgot that I had tossed his shoe in my car and I went home with it by accident.

Then the first phase of the quarantine started, and it wasn’t a problem because he was resting his ankle anyway. But week later, he had to come back to my place to pick up some stuff he needed before the full lockdown, and he texted me realizing he was missing a shoe. I assumed he had lost it at the party and I forgot I had it, so I made fun of him and told him to wear a different pair. Turns out, that was the only pair he brought home from university, and now all the stores were closed. He ordered a pair online, but the shipping is slow right now.

He came over to pick up his stuff wearing only one shoe, and I’ve seen some pictures of him on a walk or picking up groceries with a shoe and a sock too. I just found his shoe in my car the other day, and I’m not sure what to do! As far as I know, he still has only one shoe. Maybe I can discreetly return it? I feel bad leaving him this way so long!

Trouble in the schools library

Author – shoelossfan

It was after hours at J. W. Smith middle school, and after a long day of class, Alex Carmen decides to head over to the school’s library to find some books to help him get a head start on a project he has due in about 2-3 weeks. Though for some reason beyond even him, he felt a little nervous heading over to the library.

“look there’s nothing to be worried about, I’m sure the library here is at least normal…i mean it’s got to be right?” Alex questioned himself as he walked down the hall, a little relieved though paranoid since he still had both of his red and black sneaks, though as he walked across the main hall, he felt like he was being followed.

“hm someone there?” Alex asked looking behind him with some concern, however he noticed that there was no one in particular that was behind him really glaring at him as he walked. The few teens or tweens that were there seemed to be more fixated on getting to their destination. Turning on his heel and continued towards the library thinking to himself. (“Your losing it Alex…honestly I’ve been with that group too long…”)

Just as he continued his walk, all of a sudden he felt someone step on the back of his left sneaker, place their hands swiftly onto his shoulders, and scream, “BOO!”

GAH!!” Alex suddenly fell forward on to the thin carpet of the hallway, with his left foot coming completely out of his sneaker, showing off his black and red stripped socked foot, whilst a familiar voice said from behind Alex while giggling. “Whoopsies, I didn’t think I’d trip you! are you alright?”

“yeah a little..” Alex sighed as he looked up behind him to see Samantha, blushing a little as he noticed she was missing one of her blue sneaks, leaving her right black sock with blue toes and heel exposed. which perplexed him a little since he knew she didn’t get in trouble today, so he figured he would ask as he got back up. “so what happened to your shoe?”

“The sole of my shoe got ripped off completely after someone stepped on the back of it, and now my foot kind of hurts.” Samantha said with a bit of a cheeky chuckle, though blushing a tiny bit as well.

” I guess that’s what happens when you wear them out too much.” Alex teased a little as he got up, as he noticed Samantha pick up his shoe making him blush a little more as he asked. “so, you heading to the library too for this project?”

“You bet.”, Samantha said as she began to walk on ahead of Alex. “Let me guess: you wanna work on the project together?”

“Well if you want too. I mean I don’t want to pressure you into working with me.” Alex admits as he started to walk beside his girlfriend, catching a few glances at her cute socked foot.

“Pressure you? You’re not pressuring me at all. I really WOULD like to work with you Alex.”, Samantha stated with a smile as she looked at his socked foot and admits. “I think we’d have a better chance with this project if we both worked together and help each other improve, you know?”

“True, granted it’s just another chance for us to hang out.” Alex smiled a little as he held Samantha’s hand as they walked towards the library, unaware that behind a certain figure was watching the two, and glaring at Samantha.

“Hehe, easy there! People are watching!” Samantha said in a teasing, playful manner, as alex gave a confident smirk as he replied jokingly “hm I guess, but I  think half our grade knows that we’re together.”

“Truuuue….”, Samantha remarked as they entered the library. “I just hope too many people don’t get too…. you know, jealous that we’re a couple?”

“that’s unlikely, I’ve barely been here a month at most.” Alex said walking into the library as he noticed Samantha walking up to the front desk, a little confused Alex asked. “um what are you doing?”

“You didn’t know? The library’s a no-shoe zone. You have to take off your shoes and leave them with the lady at the front desk.”, Samantha nonchalantly replied as she took off her remaining shoe and placed it on the desk along with Alex’s removed sneaker.

“of course it is…” Alex sighed as he looked defeated, while he pulled off his remaining sneaker and handed it to the girl at the desk who only looked a year older thAn them asked. “excuse me but are both of these red sneakers yours?”

“Um yeah…Samantha kind of likes to borrow them sometimes.” Alex admits blushing a little as the girl chuckled. “oh is that so…well I’ll be sure to get this back to you when you leave.”

“Good, now let’s go find some books and get studying!”, Samantha happily said as she grabbed Alex’s hand, tugging him along as she went over to one of the aisles, while the girl waved them off, though gave a  bit of a smirk once they were out of sight.

“h…Hai!” Alex exclaimed as he walked behind Samantha, blushing as he got a good view of her slightly dirty socked soles, nothing this Samantha chuckled a little as she stated in a teasing manner. “I hope my socks don’t make you lose TOO much focus.”

“So long as mine don’t do the same to you.” Alex teased back with a light chuckle as they started to browse around for the books they needed, Samantha blushed a bit as she began to look around for anything interesting that could assist in her History project for a minute or two.

“How about we go talk about it in a rest area, so we can start on the paper and talk about the subject we should focus on?” Alex offered as he grabbed a few books, while accidently placing his left sock foot over Samantha’s right as he grabbed another few books. She blushed a tiny bit as Alex’s foot still felt pretty warm from managing to keep his shoes on all day long, stating while like that. “Let’s get a few more books first and then we’ll get started.”

“Alright, I’ll see if there’s any more of them over here.” Alex said as he started to walk to another section, blushing a little with how soft his girlfriends socked foot was, As Samantha looked through a couple more books about the Barbary Pirates, she couldn’t help but feel like she was being watched. However, as she turned around, she didn’t notice anyone.

(“Huh….I guess it WAS just my imagination.”), Samantha thought as she picked up the remaining books she needed and walked back to the rest area. With Alex soon joining her with more books in hand as he asked. “say Samantha-san? I hate to ask but I’ve been feeling like someone has been following us lately, though I worry I might be going a bit crazy, have you felt that way?”

as Alex asked that he took a seat across from Samantha at their table.

“Yeah, I have.”, Samantha replied. “I think it’s just my imagination. For all we know, my dad probably hired some guy to spy on us in case anything happened. He’s exactly the kind of man who want to make sure EVERYTHING’S going as he planned.”

“please he knows your safe with me at a school he funds and likely has a few teachers on his pay roll.” Alex points out with a sigh as he laid back in his chair and started to read the first book, crossing his socked feet under the table. While Samantha rebutted while picking up one of the books herself. “I know that. But you have no idea how paranoid he can be sometimes.”

“True…” Alex sighed as the two continued reading, Alex finding it rather relaxing being in the library like this.

— [about an hour later] —

And hour later with plenty of notes taken Alex started to sit up as lady at the desk called out. “Alright kiddos time to check out for the day, library closes in 5 minutes.”

“Shoot already…” Alex asked at he looked at his phone, though the remembered it was still dead,  Samantha had finished going through her notes with a sigh of relief, saying as she got up and gathered her things. “Good …I think we can stop here for today. Let’s check out some of these books and head home.”

“Yeah and get our shoes back.” Alex replied as he got up himself and gathered his notes and books before he suggests. “Say if you want, we could go to my place to continue studying together? Maybe also hang out a little?”

“I was just about the ask you the same question, but for my place. But sure!”, Samantha happily replied, also smiled as he heard that as he replied while they started for the front desk. “Heh thanks.”

After a minute or two the pair were in front of the desk, Samantha asking the lady at the desk nicely while checking out the books. “Can we have our sneakers back please?”

however, Samantha noticed it was a different person behind the desk to an hour ago, with the new librarian asking. “um sure, though which shoes we’re yours?”

“wait where’s the other teen that was working here?” Alex questioned a little confused as he set his books on the counter, as the new women replied. “oh you mean that 8th grader? I just asked her to watch my post while I was in the bath room.”

“Wait….so that other girl’s just barely in a higher grade than us? Now wonder why she looked a little younger than the rest of the school staff…”, Samantha replied upon hearing this revelation.

“yeah and you still have our shoes right? I had some red and black sneakers while Samantha had one blue and black?” Alex asked a little panicked while the women replied as she looked at the storage rack under her desk. “one second please.”

“Why are you so paranoid Alex? The librarians always keep a good eye on every pairs of shoes they get.” Samantha asked as she put a hand on Alex’s shoulder to calm him down.

“erm about that…I can’t seem to find them, are you sure you had them with you when you came in?” the librarian asked with Alex sighing a little as he replied. “Well I had one of them, seeing how Samantha had my other one.”

“And I only had one too.” Samantha adds a little shocked, as the library got back up and replied with a sorry shrug. “well I don’t have any sneakers like the ones you two described…sorry.”

“just check out our books then…” Alex sighed with some defeat knowing that he only had single shoes back home, and no money at the moment for new sneaks.

———

After the two checked out their books, they left the library in just their socks and began to make their way back. With Samantha stating as she pondered how this could happen “Huh….that’s odd. I could’ve sworn we gave them…”

“something fishy is going on around here, that’s for sure, cause I remember handing my sneaker over….and those were brand new as well.” Alex moaned with a defeated sigh as they started to make their way to the 7th grade locker area, as Samantha replied while glancing down at Alex’s stripped sockfeets. “You’re right. It is kind of liked when you lost your sneaker…Hmmm…..do you think….?”

“I doubt Penelope has anything to do with it, she’s too busy with that boot wearing boyfriend.” Alex replied in a slightly annoyed tone as they walked past the auditorium, with Samantha asking in surprise. “I wasn’t thinking about Penelope at all- wait, she had a boyfriend now?”

“Yeah Natalie said at lunch that, she’s been hanging out with some 8th grader who wears these boots that have some kind of heel.” Alex replied a little confused, as Samantha stated knowing who Alex was talking about. Oh, I think I know who you’re talking about. That’s Elias, he’s an exchange student from Europe as well as Dai Mouri’s sister.”

“And I’m not cute enough?” Alex questioned as they reached the 7th grade area, with Samantha quick to reassure him. “Ah no! Looks aren’t everything at all! Sure, Elias technically looks cuter, but he’s way too skittish for me.  Besides, why would I want better than you?”

“ah thanks for admitting that Samantha-chan…” Alex blushed hearing that as he looked towards her and admitted. “to be fair I’m happy I have someone like you, since I wouldn’t really want anyone else so close to me.”

“You’re welcome! And I’m glad you think so Alex!” Samantha replied as she smiled, with alex stating with a small blush. “your welcome, anyway let’s just get our bags and get out of here…”

Samantha nods as she walked over to her locker as well, unlocking it and getting her bags.

and soon enough the two begin to make their way home in their socks, they both continued to ponder how and why their shoes disappeared as suddenly as they did….

Shoeless worker

Author – Pete

After losing my job and girlfriend within the same week I decided to travel looking for adventure and work along the way.  With no money I hitched rides as I headed east. My last ride dropped me off at a rest stop off the interstate where I grabbed a coffee and sandwich from the gas station.
Standing at the roadside a police cruiser pulled up, the officer said I matched the description of a someone involved in a home invasion nearby. Whilst investigating the crime I had to be detained to stop me leaving town, he handcuffed me and took me to the police office. After emptying my pockets I was told to take off my sneakers. I looked down at my worn red Air Jordans,  “Why?” I asked. “No shoes allowed in the jail cells” he replied. “You can’t lock me up I’ve done nothing wrong” I protested. He drew his taser gun and said “Take them off”.
“Hey man, your making a mistake” I said as I pulled off my sneaks.
I was taken in my white crew socked feet to a jail cell where i was locked inside. After an hour my initial fear subsided, it was a new experience to add to my adventure, a story to impress the girls, I’d served time in jail ‘how cool’ I thought as I layed in that cell staring at my socked feet.
Two hours later my incarceration was over, they’d caught the real home invader. My property was returned but was told my sneakers had gone off to the lab for shoe print analysis. After expecting them back immediately I was told they’d be back next day if the lab wasn’t busy. “What am I supposed to do without shoes” I said. He suggested I buy another pair and collect my sneakers later. I didnt want to lose my Jordans and with very little money I told him it wasn’t an option and I wanted my sneakers now.
He suggested that his brother could give me a bed for the night while waiting for my shoes to be returned. It was that or spending the night in that cold cell. I took up his offer. I could feel the heat from the black top as I  walked to his car in my socked feet. Half an hour later we arrived at a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. The officers brother used it for his eBay business importing all sorts of junk from China and selling it online. The barn was a mini Amazon warehouse without any workers.
After a meal and a good night’s sleep I asked the guy if he could take me back into town so I could collect my sneakers. He said he was too busy and his brother would return with my shoes. He suggested I could help him out in the barn packing boxes. It was the least I could do seeing as he had fed me and given me a bed for the night. He didn’t offer me any footwear so I just stood in my socks packing boxes, several hours passed when I heard a vehicle pull up outside. I was expecting to see the police officer with my sneaks but it was a courier collecting all the parcels I had made. I wanted to get a ride into town but was dissuaded, “He might not have them and you could end up sleeping on the street shoeless” said the officers brother. He said I  could stay another night if his brother doesnt return. I stood in my socked feet watching the courier drive away.
The next day the guy insisted I pack boxes again. After several hours of working in my socked feet again I insisted he call his brother to come and get me. He refused telling me his brother was a busy guy and he’d return my shoes when he gets them. After another day I demanded to leave, “Nobody stopping you” he said knowing I wouldn’t get very far without shoes. I looked at his feet, stealing his Timberland boots wasn’t an option, smaller than my size 11 feet and I didn’t want to spend another minute in that jail cell for theft.
I had been stuck on the farm a week when eventually the police officer arrived with my sneakers. I put them on, it was like walking on air after being shoeless for so long.
He gave me a ride back to the rest stop, he was full of apologies and excuses. An hour later I was in a truck heading east on the Interstate. Not quite the adventure I’d been expecting so far, locked up then working in socked feet for a week without any pay. I soon put it behind me as my travels continued.
Three months later I was returning home, the truck driver said he had a drop to make, we pulled off the highway onto a farm. It was the same farm. As the truck got unloaded I went inside the barn, a young guy was packing boxes. I looked down at his feet. He was shoeless.

Footie boots

Author – Steve

After the match – which we lost 4 – 2 – the four of us  stopped off at the café before getting changed, the owner did not allow people to come in in footie boots as it wrecked his floor and there were already 2 pairs of muddy boots outside the door so we took ours off  and went in. I had tucked a £20 note in the pocket inside my shorts so we were OK for cash, we ordered 4 coffees and looking round while waiting we noticed 2 lads from the winning team on the other side of the café, they were also in there footie kits. They had white socks where as ours were light blue. Our coffees arrived and we drank and chatted for ages. The other lads left before we did as they had arrived before us. One of the lads came back in looking round very sheepishly and came over to us He asked us what had we done with his and his mates boots, thinking we had hidden them for a prank, we said we did not know what he was talking about and as we had finished our coffees we  got up to join his mate outside. So now there were six of us in our footie kits in the car park in our socks. We looked round for our boots without any luck and decided we should go back to the changing hut so at least we could put our street clothes and shoes on. The pitch was muddy so we jogged round the edge if it on the path to the changing hut. When we got there it was closed up and locked, obviously they had thought everyone had gone. One of the lads from the home team seemed to think he knew where the caretaker lived so he jogged off to find him, it was only in the next street. He came back well over an hour later, obviously having been in the pub with the caretaker who unlocked for us so we could shower and change into our street clothes ready to head for home.

Gavin

Author – Brian

Just before we went on spring break, Gavin, a new guy, started coming to our school it was his third day I have him in gym first period and math sixth period. He is one of those guys that is kind of full of himself  all the girls talk about how cute he is, and he carries around this deck (has some brand new  Court Graffik SE DC’s. I like them a lot.)  He acts like he is better than everyone else type guy.
Gavin sits behind me in math and kicks my seat. I ask him to stop. He just looks at me. In gym class, he talks about nothing but skating and how good he is and how in LA he went to some skate park every day. After the third day. I overheard Mark in the gym say he was sick of Gavin and was going to steal his shoes, not sure why his shoes. Mark usually just picks a fight, and you do what he says after it is over.
The next day I made sure I finished in the locker room early, walked out sit down on the bleachers.’ Mark and Jeremy came running out and sit down close to where I was sitting and started talking, Jeremy said, did you get them, Mark said I got one before the coach came in. Mark said, let’s get out of here before Gavin says anything.
I wanted to see what happen, so I stayed, Gavin walked out carrying his stuff and sit down he opened his bag and pulled out his left shoe and put it on and reached in his bag for his right shoe and then picked up the bag and started going through it like crazy. He looked at me and said, watch my stuff and headed for the locker room. Gavin finally came back, grabbed his stuff, and said I hate this F*&#@ place and walked out the door.
I didn’t see him till sixth period. He walked in, wearing his left shoe and a dirty white sock. He was wearing shorts, the DC was Grey/Black/Grey, so it kind of stuck out. I ask him. Why are you wearing one shoe? He just looked at me and said, I F&%$ threw it away, so I had to walk around school all day without it. What do you think?
The next day we only had a half-day because Springbreak starts, and we get out early, so we just had roll call in the gym and sat in the bleachers till the bell. Gavin walked in after the bell and came over, sit down behind me. I couldn’t tell if he got his shoe back are had a different pair. I finally turned around and asked another friend sitting behind Gavin a question and looked down Gavin had on Jeans that same left DC and just a black sock on his right foot. I saw Mark walk in and sit down by Jeremy, so I moved over by them to see if they said anything. Mark asks Jeremy if Gavin said anything Jermey said no, but he only has one shoe. Mark started laughing and said, okay. Making sure He only has one from now on is my goal in life. (Mark is a bully and the popular guy) Jeremy asks Mark what did you do with Gavin’s shoe. All Mark said was which peace.
Gavin walked into sixth period and sat down I couldn’t help but look at his shoeless foot. Gavin said I will get even with whoever did this. I ask him, don’t you have other shoes? He said if I did, would I be sitting here with just a F&#$ sock on.
Spring break started, and so did the lockdown another story. I seen Gavin about five days later, turns out he lives one street over are backyards touch. He was in his back yard. He asks if I want to come over I said sure after a while I ask if he wanted to go to the park, he asks if I skate I told him I have never tried so we decided to see if I could, I can’t. Gavin grabbed his deck, and we walked threw his house to the front door, and he stopped and slid that same DC on he had worn at school. I said you still only have one shoe. Gavin said we went to get new ones, and everything was closed for the virus, so my dad ordered them online, and then I got an email saying they are on backorder, and we don’t have money to get any. I told him I had a pair he could borrow. I feel bad for him, but he said it was good he would wait.
He has turned in to a good friend, but I have never told him what happen because he may get mad at me. It has been fun watching people when they see him walking around, missing his right shoe, and they ask why? He says I threw it away are I’m saving for the other one. You can tell it embarrasses him. To be honest, I think it is kind of cool
