The Dart Game pt. 1

Author – Alexander

The other day I went to my mate’s house. He invited me in and gave me something to drink. We talked a little about things and he told me he got this electronic dartsboard. I said okay, I don’t know much about that game and he got up and said come on I’ll show you. I followed him into the little shed in his garden. There it was, he plugged it in and he gave me a set of darts. I started throwing the darts at the board. Then he did his turn and then me again and after some practice he said let’s do a 2 out of 3 game. I said okay. Then he said loser has to obey the winner for next 3 hours. I felt reluctant for a moment but I agreed. He wasn’t that good either. We started of and the first game I won surprisingly but the second was for him. We looked at eachother and laughed a little. We played on and he won again. Now I had to obey him for the next 3 hours and I really didn’t know what he was up to. He said come on let’s get our bikes and go somewhere. We cycled outside of town until we got to the entrance of a wood. There was this fence and he told me to climb up and sit down on it. It was about 4 feet high so it was no problem. He looked at me and my feet and then he pushed them a little back until the front of my shoes were on the crossbar. Then he started pulling on the heels but nothing much happened because I had tied them up for a change. He started untying the laces and losing them up until my heel popped out, first left and then the right one. I wanted to ask him what he was up to but we agreed that the loser was not alowed to ask anything. He told me to jump off the fence and start walking into the wood. I walked a few steps but it wasn’t that easy to walk with my shoes being very loose. After a few yards he stepped on my right heel and I just walked out of my shoe, I stopped for a second but he told me to just keep walking. A few steps further he did the same with my left shoe. There I was walking in red with black heel and toe socks. I had to keep on walking and don’t look back. Several yards further he said stop, if you want your shoes back you’ll have to pick them up. I turned around and I could barely see them. I started walking back and he told me to just pick them up but not put them on. When I returned to my mate he told me to put them on again, so I did. We walked on and we came to this open field. On the edge was a little hunters cabin and my mate said let’s take a look there. We had to cross some high grass and leaves and everything but we made it. It was about 7 or 8 feet high and he said let’s take a look up there. You go first, I started climbing up the ladder and he grabbed my shoes again. I could hear them falling somewhere in the high grass and he was only laughing as he followed me up. We sat there for a little while and I tried to locate my shoes but I couldn’t. After some time he said let’s go down again so you can search for your shoes. I went down first and when I stood there I looked around for my shoes but I didn’t see them. I walked around a little and then my mate says found them and he started walking towards where we came from. I said come on let me put them on first and he just said no can’t do that and he walked on laughing. I had to cross the field in my socked feet and because of all the little branches it was a little painfull. When he reached the path to the entrance he just kept on walking and I was just halfway the field. Eventually he made me walk back in socks to our bikes. When I arrived he was already cycling away. I shouted come on wait up for me but I got no answer. I got up my bike and I noticed the filth and dry grass on my feet. I followed him up and on my way there were some people approaching and I got little embarrassed. When I finally reached my mate I could see he tied my shoes together and they were hanging on the handlebar. I wanted to ask him what next but I wasn’t allowed to so I could just follow him wherever he went.
