A walk in clogs

Author – Shoeplayer

Steve cleaned up his kitchen and wanted to take the trash out. He slipped into his wooden clogs, took his key and went out to the garbage container. The weather was nice. A little chilly, but sunny. Why not take a little walk. He went down his quiet side street to the next main road. He walked down the main road. Steve had just moved, so he explored the new neighborhood. He went up and down different big and small streets. After about one hour walking, his feet hurt in his clogs and Steve thought about the little ’dares’ he did sometimes. He loved the thrill to slip of his shoes at public places, leaving them behind, stealthily sneaking around in his stocking feet, when no one was around. The imagination, that his abandoned shoes might be stolen, leaving him stranded in his socks somehow excited him. He would die of shame, if it really would happen! Steve had reached an area with some multi-story buildings. He tried a front door to an apartment building. Closed. The next building. Closed. If he would find an open front door, he could sneak into the stairwell, hide his clogs under the stairs and sneak up in his stocking feet, away from his clogs. If he would be caught, they surely would think, he is a neighbor. Big apartment buildings are very anonymous. Finally Steve found, what he was looking for. A door was just ajar ….

Kevin had just parked his car, when he noticed a strange guy, he never had seen before, nervously entered the apartment building, were he lived. He was only wearing a white thin shirt, jeans, some wooden clogs and white socks. No coat. Did he want to break into an apartment? Not in these shoes for sure!  No way to run away in clogs! Kevin had to grin, imagining this guy would lose his clogs, being chased around in his white stocking feet ….

Steve slowly entered the large apartment building. He found a dirty emergency stairwell. Cigarette butts on the floor. He sneaked upstairs to the first floor. He slipped of his clogs and left them in a corner. Carefully he sneaked upstairs in his white socks, further and further away from his shoes ….

Kevin locked his car and went to his apartment-house. The front door was unlocked. The door lock was broken, so anyone could enter the building. Kevin was listening. Absolutely silence. If the guy was somewhere in the stairwell, his clogs should make a lot of noise! Kevin went upstairs. When he reached the first floor … surprise!!! The guys’ clogs were neatly placed in a corner! Why did he do this?! Did he really want to break in? Curiously Kevin sneaked upstairs. To get to the apartments, you needed a key, to open the doors from the stairwell to the floors. The guy must be somewhere in the stairwell. The building had 10 floors. Kevin went up to the 5th floor, then stopped. He looked up between the banister and got glimpse of someone hurrying upstairs, but didn’t hear footsteps. The weird guy probably heard him and fled all the way up to the top floor …. In his socks! A shy ‘sockwalker’? With a smirk on his face he imagined, how the poor lad was waiting somewhere upstairs, in his white little socks, regretting he had left his clogs behind. Seems, he didn’t want, to be caught in his stocking feet! Grinning brightly Kevin sneaked down, collected the guys’ clogs, went back to his car and threw the clogs in his trunk. Then he waited outside ….

Steve got nervous, when he heard someone entering the stairwell and walking upstairs. Quickly he sneaked further up, to the top floor. He crouched down in a corner, desperately hoping, the person went into one of the apartment-floors! Trembling he heard the footsteps coming closer. Steve stopped breathing. Then it was silent. After some time he heard the person going down again and a door was opened. Silence again. Steve breathed a sigh of relief! Quickly he sneaked down, to get his clogs back. He just wanted to get out, before more people entered the stairwell. When he reached the floor, where he left his clogs …. they were gone!!! Frantically he ran some floors up again, then down to the basement, he looked under the stairs …. nothing!!! OMG! Where are his clogs! Sweating and trembling he sneaked to the front door. He opened the door a little and carefully peeked outside, hoping someone just kicked his clogs out on the sidewalk. No clogs! Oh no! His fantasy became true!!! He was very far from home … in his stocking feet! Frantically Steve sneaked out, carefully tiptoeing down the sidewalk, feeling each little stone under his toes!

Grinning brightly, Kevin started his mobile and filmed the shoeless dude, then got in his car and slowly followed him.  Of course he would give him his clogs back …. maybe! 😉

With lowered head Kevin scurried around the strange neighborhood! Passersby were staring and laughing at him! You don’t see a blushing guy, tiptoeing around in white socks every day! He just wanted to get out of sight! Finally he found a deserted cul-de-sac and realized, he couldn’t remember …. which way he came from! He was lost!

Day of Reckoning

Author – Jman

It was the day of reckoning.  The forfeited shoes of the band students who did not have a pencil for a surprise pencil inspection where about to be auctioned off and the students where about to see their former shoes become the property of someone else.  Although students with shoes in the auction cannot bid in the auction, they must still attend the auction to see their shoes auctioned off.

As the students filed in the assembly room, they took a look at the various shoes that would be sold that day.  The gavel went down and the first pair of shoes up for bids was Todd’s low top purple tennis shoes with white stripes.  Todd was kind of a class clown but had a good heart.  He was not thrilled about losing his shoes but he knew he deserved it.  The shoes were kind of worn but were unique and would be a good addition to a sneaker collection and they sold for $65.

Next were Craig’s school shoes.  They were just plain solid black leather school shoes, nothing fancy.  But Craig was arrogant and looked down on people and often bought other peoples’ shoes in previous auctions and so allot of people wanted to buy his shoes.  People would buy the shoes of someone they did not like or a very popular student and keep the shoes as “trophy.”  This is what happened with Craig’s shoes as they went for $165.   Mike’s brown skate shoes were then sold to his former girlfriend for $105.  Another case of people bidding on shoes to get back at a former owner.  Mike came from another school and thought he was better than everybody else.

Gregg’s work boots were the next to go under the hammer.  They were a good pair of boots that would have been good for outdoors and allot of students wanted a good pair of boots.   The boots sold for $70.  Greg took losing his boots in stride just like he did with everything else in life.

The auction went on and the band members’ shoes continued to be sold to the highest bidder.  Next to be sold were Jared’s shoes.  Jared had two pairs of shoes the auction today.  The pair of sneakers that he lost in band class and and a pair of brown deck shoes that he lost for wearing them on the gym floor.  He had also lost a pair of deck shoes earlier for wearing them on the gym floor.  Jared was basically a good guy who just does not pay attention to things and he loses shoes because of it.   Kenny bought Jared’s deck shoes for $35 as he always wanted a pair but could not a get a good deal on them.

Other shoes auctioned that day included some ugg boots lost by some girls who broke the rules and left the school for lunch.

The auction concluded and students were eager to try on the new shoes they had purchased hoping they would not end up losing them for breaking the rules.

Saturday club

Author – Jaime

It was the weekend and I was supposed to meet my friends at the shopping mall but I had left my smartphone in my school bag in my locker. Fortunately our school had a Saturday club for those who’d underachieved or had not done homework during the week. So I went into the school to get my bag, it felt strange walking along the deserted hallway. I retrieved my bag and headed for the exit but got stopped by a teacher who demanded to know why I was not in class. I explained but he didn’t believe me, he looked through my bag. He asked why I was carrying school books if I’m not here for Saturday club. Disbelieving me he assumed I had taken advantage of leaving an unsupervised class after registration. He demanded I follow him or I’d be in detention everyday next week. We entered a classroom with younger kids inside, he told me to take a seat and get my books out. I protested and he said he would go check the register but he didn’t trust me so he demanded my shoes to stop me leaving again. He wasn’t leaving to go check if I didn’t obey meaning I would be here all day, I was embarrassed taking off my shoes infront of the whole class. I gave him my Nikes leaving me standing in my black socks. I sat down to hide my shoeless feet as he left the room taking my sneakers with him.
The younger kids found it amusing that a 17 year old was sat in their class without shoes. My best buddy phoned and I had to explain that I was delayed because I was stuck in school on a Saturday morning and couldn’t leave because my shoes had been confiscated.

Shoeless at the restaurant

Author – Evan

This happened about 4 months ago.

I’ve been friends with a guy who works at a restaurant I eat lunch at during my lunch breaks at works. His name’s Jack. He’s a pretty chill guy and we get along well. There was one day as I was heading to that restaurant, I tripped on the sidewalk, and my shoe flew off and rolled into a storm drain. I was almost there, and I couldn’t get to my shoe, so I decided to walk/hop the rest of the way there in one shoe and my white nike sock.

I ate my lunch there as normal, well except without my right shoe. As I was getting a refill for my drink to leave, my friend Jack notices that I was without a shoe. As I’m passing him wishing him a good day, he stops me. He points down to my shoeless foot and asks, “Yo man, what happened to your shoe?” I simply told him it fell in a drain and I couldnt get it. He patted me on the shoulder and said “Not gonna lie, you look really funny, but hey at least you have your other shoe.” As I said bye to him again, he responded with, “See ya man. Don’t lose your other shoe!”

A few days later, I stop by the restaurant again, wearing my DC shoes, only except I went at the end of my work shift instead of during lunch (mid-afternoon). Jack was there as usual, and after I ate lunch, it was time for his shift to be over. He suggested that we walk home together since we live nearby each other (my neighborhood is further up the road from his). As we approached the street his neighborhood was on, he started to look down at my feet. I thought he was gonna tie my shoe, but instead he grabbed my right foot, and yanked my shoe off. It caught me by surprise, and I fell to the ground the moment my shoe came off. “Wait why did you take my shoe,” I asked. All Jack said was “Like I mentioned, you look funny without your shoe. Its no biggie, I’ll give it back soon.” Jack runs off into his neighborhood with my shoe. I tried to hop after him, but I lost sight of him after a bit. I just looked down at my shoeless foot with my white and blue nike elite sock, and just decided to go home the rest of the way with only one shoe.

My girlfriend

Author – Chad

The other day my girlfriend game to my house. We are both in 8th grade. When I let her in we both immediately went to my room. Right away she said your room is a mess and started to clean my room. I said you don’t have to clean my room but she insisted so I just let her go. That day she was wearing a sweatshirt with blue skinny jeans and white vans and I was wearing a grey sweatshirt with black joggers and some air Jordan 1 high tops. After she was done cleaning my room she got on her phone and we watched some tik tok. After a little while later she said are your air Jordan’s new and I said yea I got then a week ago. She then grabbed my right foot and started to untie my shoe. She then pulled off my right Jordan revealing my white and black nike elite sock. She then looked at my shoe for a minute and then took a sniff of my shoe. She then told me you have only had these for a week and they already stink. We then both laughed and then she chucked my shoe across my room and then grabbed my shoeless foot with just a sock on it and started to rub it. After a little while longer it was almost time for her to go. She then went and got her backpack and got her things ready to go. While she was packing up I noticed her grabbing all my right shoes. She then started to place them in her backpack. I then asked her what are you doing. She replied I’m taking all your right shoes, I like you better with just one shoe and a sock, you look more cute. I had no choice but to go with it. My girlfriend then hugged me and said we you at school tomorrow. She then said bye to my mom and then got in her parents car and went home. For the rest of the night I pretty much forgot about the whole thing. The next morning I took a shower and got dressed. Then when was going to put on my shoes and get on the bus but then it hit me. I have not right shoes. I stood there for a minute looking at all my left shoes. I then just told my self to suck it up just role with it. So that’s what I did. I got on the bus with a left Jordan 1 high top and a white and blue sports sock. When I got on the bus I took notice immediately that everyone was staring at my shoeless foot. I didn’t really care and just walked to my seat and sat down. My friend Zach asked me where is your right shoe. I decided just to tell him the truth and told him that my girlfriend took all my right shoes because she says I look better with one shoe and a sock. My friend just laughed and said well good luck. When I got to school I got off the bus and walked into the auditorium and sat down with my girlfriend. The first thing she said was aww you look so cute with one shoe. We then hugged and she talked about some girl drama for a while. After she was done with that I asked what did you do with all my right shoes. She then replied I took them home and put them in my closet. She then went on to say that after she put my right shoes in her backpack that it smelled terrible and that she had to wash her backpack it smelled so bad. We then both laughed and I then asked her so when can I have my right shoes back. She replied with a little giggle and said I don’t know probably never but who knows. I then said I’m going to need my right shoes. She then said you don’t need your right shoes you have socks. The bell rang and she then said se ya. We then hugged and I then walked to my first class. When I walked in my teacher saw my shoeless foot but never said anything. The next 3 classes were the same. At lunch my girlfriend was telling her friends that she took all my right shoes and that I only have socks to wear on my right foot. All her friends laughed and said let us see. She then grabbed my socked foot and set it on the table. Everyone laughed and started taking pictures. Of my blue and white sports sock. My girlfriend then said for me to give her my socked foot. I sat it on her lap and she then said your sock is dirty and then began pulling off hairs and dirt. After she was done she then rubbed my socked foot for the rest of lunch. After lunch everyone knew about my story with my girlfriend and everyone was asking me about how it is like in one shoe. I just told them feels weird but anything for my girlfriend. The day ended and I saw that everyone had posted pictures me with one shoe and a sock on instagram. My girlfriend even did. This is how my life is now I guess I’m someone who wears left shoes and socks on my right foot. I’ll right another story if something else happens. Comment if this has happed to you.

Puncture

Author – Steve

The four of us were on our way back from a night out with about 20 miles to go driving on quiet roads with very little traffic. We were doing 50 miles an hour when suddenly the steering got very odd and Kevin pulled off to the side of the road stopping sharply – we all got out and looked round to see what was the matter was. It turns out it was a puncture on the off side rear tyre. No worries said I we will put the spare on – errrm not got one said Kevin Much thinking. Ive got a jack though said Kevin and we proceeded to take the wheel off much help it was. It was gone 2am and there was no chance of anything meaningful being done tonight. In the distance we head a small moped heading our way and at least there might be someone who could help. Soon a skinny 16 year old lad pulled up on his moped, he soon saw the problem and knew a way out of it. The same had happened to him a year ago and he had saved the day by slipping the tyre of the rim and packing it with some straw to fill the tyre, It was a bit bumpy but certainly worth a try to get him home. He seemed happy enough to help and hung around while we went scouring the area for hay or similar. Kevin had pulled the tyre off one rim using the jack handle but try as we might we could find no trace of suitable packing material. The lad on the moped said – use your trainers they are pretty tough and flexible they ought to do the trick. We looked at him in diss belief but we were totally stuck. I took off my vans and threw them to Kevin, he took his off and so did Taylor and Simon. Kevin started packing them round the tyre and made good progress but we were just a bit short to finish the job.  We asked Jim on the moped for his work boots to finish the job and though he hesitated he took them off, he was only a mile from home and was prepared to ride home in his socks if need be. Kevin put the wheel back on the car and threw the jack in the boot. Lets see if it works said Kevin starting the engine. AS the car moved forward the wheel on the verge started to spin in the mud, just needs a push said Kevin through the open window so the four of us started to push the car came off the verge and Kevin stopped in the middle of the road 20 meters down the road. Jim went back up to his moped and rode off in his muddy socks, leaving us to chase Kevin’s car in our socks. We piled in laughing at the state we were in and Kevin drove home very slowly avoiding any sharp turns to avoid the tyre coming off – it worked and 3 hours later we were home after a very slow bumpy ride. The following day Kevin took the wheel off recovered our trainers and as well as a new tyre he bought a spare wheel from the scrap dealers. We took Jim’s boots back a few days later and left them by the gate to his farm.

Shoes in the trash

Author – Jman

Me and my friends Eric and John were at the park one day.  As we were going along, we passed by a trash bin.  I stopped and suggested to Eric and John that we throw away our shoes in the trash bin and spend the rest of the day in our socks.  Eric said, “Why would we want to do that?”  I replied, “Why not?”  Eric said “Okay.”  I proceeded to take off my black skate shoes and drop them into the bin hearing the echo of the bin as each shoe hit the bottom.  Eric then took off his brown skate shoes and likewise dropped them into the bin.  We waited for John to throw away his shoes and at first he did not want to  that.  Eric said, “Come on John, throw your shoes away.  It’s fun.”  Eventually John took off his white tennis shoes and threw them in the trash bin.  There the three of us stood in our white socks, our shoes being too far down in the bin for us to get them back.

We spent some time on the playground equipment and our socks got somewhat dirty.  We then left the park and started to go home.  We passed by a fast food place and Eric suggested that we go get something to eat.  John pointed out that we did not have any shoes on.  We went inside in our socks.  A few people looked at us but no one said anything as we sat at the table without shoes on.  Although we were a little unsure about being shoeless, it was fun hanging out in socks with friends.  Later, we went to the cinema, still shoeless.

As we were going back home, John said, “You know we are going to have to buy new shoes now.”  Eric replied, “Why is that.  We got through today in our socks and we can do the same tomorrow.”

In the gym

Author – *Anonymous

A few years ago, when I was in high school, I went to the gym on Monday to stay in shape. I’ve never had a problem there, it wasn’t such a big place and there were hardly ever many people. I never used the lockers because they were very small and there wasn’t all the stuff and therefore I left everything on the benches in the locker room. Even though it wasn’t under surveillance, nothing had ever disappeared. One day, however, when I arrived, I saw that there were many more people than usual to train and most were boys. Given many people, I decided to use the lockers, but I couldn’t get everything in. So I left them side by side, as always on the benches, the stuff that didn’t fit, or the jacket and the shoes, both the ones I had arrived with (Timberland boots) and the ones I usually train with (Air Jordan 1) because that day I had to do exercises without shoes. So I go to train and after a few hours I go back to the locker room to take a shower and change. For now everything is normal, I take the stuff from the cupboard, put it on the bench with the rest, take the stuff to wash myself and go to take a shower. After about 15 minutes I come back and I realize that some of my stuff had been taken by someone. My pants and both pairs of shoes I had were gone. I searched for a while to see if someone had simply made a joke on me, but I didn’t find anything anymore. So I took the rest of my stuff and left without shoes in short winter shorts. The thing that bothered me was that the shoes were practically new and I hadn’t paid them much. I haven’t gone to that gym since then.
